vBundle and 6.7.0 - Compatible?

When I upgraded to v6.7.0, I had a performance issue which was preventing consistent data collections.  One item that *seemed* to be messing things up was the vBundle and Velocity cartridges that I had installed.  After uninstalling, things were better but still needed some additional JVM memory tweaks to make the new version reliable.  Now I find myself really wanting the dashboard objects that these cartridges brought to the table.  Is anyone running them successfully under 6.7.0?

If you copy the rule it will remain even if you remove vBundle.  I generally copy them and call custom rules "Custom - Rule Name...." or "CustomerName - Rule Name".  There are plans to review some of the vBundle bits to add the product, but most of his custom work has already been incorporated via new metrics and enhancements to drag and drop dashboards.

vBundle has some derived metrics which are problematic in vFoglight 6.0 +

These are known to cause performance issues.

Support will ask you to uninstall vBundle first every time you have a performance issue.

It's not unusual to tweak the server.config file for jvm performance, depending on size of the environment and available server resources.

It's rumored that many of the features from vBundle are slated to be included in the base vFoglight product at some point in the future.

vBundle is no longer being maintained and will be removed from distribution.

There is a community-datastore cartridge that is similar to vBundle.

It is still being worked on to support vFoglight 6.7.

Jeffrey,

I was looking at vBundle in order to get reporting on disk I/O off my VMs. How do I do that now?

Thanks Jeffrey, I found this just after I'd posted here. Looking forward of course to the supported version.

Hello Jeff,

Al from UPS here. Question I have the vbundle datastore capacity alert set to send it's alerts to a notification system for automated problem log and paging. Currently running vFoglight 6.6.2. I'd like to move to 6.7 but don't want to lose alarm functionality with the vbundle datastore capacity alert not being available in 6.7. Is there an alert that is similiar or are there plans to move this alert into the next release? thx,,al
