Well, I believe the first one is caused by Hewlitt-Packard Software, and it's not necessary
.

You can disable hpcmpmgr, it is a resource hog.

Start--Run type in "msconfig" (without quotes) Click OK

Click on the startup tab. Uncheck "hpcmpmgr" OK.

"ccapp" I believe is adware.(I googled it) Run spyware scans with Spybot, and Adaware.

I agree that the msconfig solution worked for the mscmpmgr problem, however, if you disable ccApp and are using Norton antivirus, it will not operate correctly.  See  http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2003010811511306?OpenDocument&src=hot&prod=Norton%20AntiVirus&ver=2003%20for%20Windows%202000/Me/98/XP&stg=2&base=http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nav/&next=nav_2003_search_solve.html&sone=nav_2003_tasks.html&tpre= for more info.

Thanks for your input. I did not know ccapp was a Norton program. If the original poster has Norton, disabling ccapp might be a bad idea.

If there is any doubt, post in the virus/spyware board here in the Dell Forums.

(I should offer a disclaimer with my advice, lol) ;)
