Welcome to DCF

There's a few infections we need to deal with here

1. Please go HERE

And Download SmitFraudFix by S!ri
  • Save it to your Desktop->>Rt Click->>Extract all->>and extract it to your desktop
    Open The Smitfraud folder
    Double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Open that file, Ctrl+A to copy, and post a copy of that log as a reply to this thread
Do Not run option 2 until instructed to do so

Please note that some Antivirus programs flag process.exe as an infection, but it is actually a needed componient of this tool

2. Re Run Hijackthis
  • At the Main window select " Open the misc tool section"
Then select " Open uninstall manager"
Then " save list" and save it to your desktop
Copy and paste that list as a reply to this thread

Your reply should include
  • your rapport.txt from Smitfraudfix
    your uninstall_list.txt from Hijackthis

You may want to print out these instructions for Reference

    1. Follow these instructions for removing NewDotNet:

Please download LSP-Fix from the following link and save it to a location you can find later if necessary. Do not use this. See ***note below

    LSP-Fix Download Link
    • From a computer that has Internet access, click on NewDotNet Removal
    • If you get "the page cannot be displayed" when clicking on the removal link. You may have winhelp's mvps hosts file installed, as www.newdotnet.com is a blocked site
    • Download and save uninstall6_90.exe (New.Net/Support/Uninstall exe file) to the Desktop.
    • Go to the Desktop and double-click on uninstall6_90.exe
    • Click on the OK button.
    • After removal, reboot.
***Note: If you cannot connect to the Internet after removing New.net, please run the LSP-Fix program I had you download earlier, and click on the finish button. Reboot and you should be able to get back on

    2. Reboot into Safe Mode
    This can be done by
    • Restart your PC, and after it starts, but before you see the Windows Splash screen
Begin tapping the F8 key twice a second untill you reach another menu screen (black background with white menu choices)
Use your arrow keys and select Safe Mode and then Enter
    3. Go to Add/Remove Programs (Click Start->>Control Panel->>Add/Remove Programs)
    And uninstall the following
    • Internet Explorer Security Plugin 2006
      Internet Security Add-On
      Video ActiveX Object 2.07
      WildTangent Web Driver

      Close Add/Remove Programs
    4. Open the SmitfraudFix Folder, then double-click smitfraudfix.cmd file to start the tool.
    • Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press Enter.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
You will be prompted : " Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?" answer Yes by typing Y and hit Enter.
The tool will also check if wininet.dll is infected. If a clean version is found, you will be prompted to replace wininet.dll. Answer Yes to the question " Replace infected file ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process, if your computer does not restart automatically please do it yourself manually. Reboot in Safe Mode.

The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

    5. Reboot into Normal Windows mode->>Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh log

    your reply should include
    • your rapport.txt log from Smitfraudfix
      a fresh Hijackthis log

    1. Rerun Hijackthis(scan only) and place checks beside the following entries
    • O2 - BHO: Class - {A398989A-7094-BD9E-0E29-9F952B2594B4} - blank (file missing)
      O2 - BHO: Class - {FA5F020A-4CB6-3D19-569C-35F571234778} - blank (file missing)
      O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [] c:\WINDOWS\System32\
      O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [] c:\WINDOWS\System32\
      O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Shellapi32] svcnet.exe
      O21 - SSODL: buprestidae - {b59f3ba4-98da-4b5f-8a2d-7b56fb11140b} - (no file)
Close all other open windows except Hijackthis and Select " Fix checked"

If prompted to reboot Select No and close Hijackthis

    2. Open Notepad (Not Wordpad)
Copy and paste the following into notepad
(Making sure there is no space between the top of the window and the first line)

    REGEDIT4

    [-HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Shell API32]

    [-HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Shell API32]

After you copy and paste it your cursor should be at the end of the first line
Hit Enter so your cursor is under the last line
    • Click File->> Save as->>type in fix.reg->>
Under " Save as type" Select " All Files"->> save it to your Desktop
      Close NotePad
The fix.reg file should now appear on your Desktop

Rt Click and Select merge->>If prompted to Merge Select Yes (it will appear that nothing has happened but that's o.k.)

Reboot your PC->>Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh log

    Looks good so far

Please perform an Ewido Online Malware Scan

    • When a dialog box appears asking you if you would like to download and install the ewido anti-spyware online scanner please click Yes to allow the download.
    • Click on Start Scan.
    • after the scan completes i twill produce a log for you, copy and paste the results of that scan as a reply to this thread
    • If any infections are found, (After you save the logfile), Click on Remove Infections.

You need to post your log in your own thread. Go to the first page of the Hijackthis forum, and select New Message. And post your Smitfraud log and a Hijackthis log in that thread. And we will help you there.
