Welcome. Thank you for using Dell Community Forums.
I am reviewing your log.
In the meantime, you can help me by doing the following:

* Have you have posted this issue on another forum? If so, please provide a link to the topic.

* If you are using any cracked software, please remove it.
Definition of cracked software:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_cracking

* If you are using any P2P (file sharing) programs, please remove them before we clean your computer.
The nature of such software and the high incidence of malware in files downloaded with them is counter productive to restoring your PC to a healthy state.
A list of P2P's is here: http://www.castlecops.com/t204179-P2P_programs_we_ask_that_you_remove_first.html

* If this computer belongs to someone else, do you have authority to apply the fixes we will use?

* Have you already fixed entries using HijackThis? If so, please restore all the backups and then post another log.

* After we begin working, please print or copy all instructions to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out procedures.
Please follow all instructions in sequence. Do not, on your own, install/re-install any programs or run any fixes or scanners that you have not been instructed to use because this may cause conflicts with the tools that I am using.

* During the course of our cleanup please do not do any online work or surfing until we have verified that your system is clean.

* We may be using some specialized tools during our fix. Certain embedded files that are part of legitimate programs or specialized fix tools such as process.exe, restart.exe, SmiUpdate.exe, reboot.exe, ws2fix.exe, prcviewer.exe and nircmd.exe may at times be detected by some anti-virus/anti-malware scanners as a "RiskTool", "Hacking tool", "Potentially unwanted tool", or even "malware (virus/trojan)" when that is not the case.
Such programs have legitimate uses in contexts where an authorized user or administrator has knowingly installed it. These detections do not necessarily mean the file is malware or a bad program. It means it has the potential for being misused by others. Anti-virus scanners cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert you or even automatically remove them.

* If your replies do not fit in one post while we are handling your issue, please reply to yourself until all text is submitted. It may take several posts.

I look forward to your reply.

The instructions in this topic are only for this Forum member.
Please do not use these instructions on another computer system. You can seriously damage your system by following the instructions below without guided assistance, and you will make a cleanup of your system more difficult.

If you want clean up remnants of McAfee, use their mcpr.exe tool, free at McAfee site.
http://ts.mcafeehelp.com/faq3.asp?docid=408302M

Use the tool from Symantec to completely remove your Symantec products. It is available here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Please launch HijackThis and place a checkmark next to the following:

O16 - DPF: {CE185270-53A5-11D9-9669-0800200C9A66} - http://www.ouchvideo.com/mmviewer_ic2.cab

Close all other windows and click "Fix Checked".
Close HijackThis, and reboot.

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE >Save Link As to download Silent Runners.
  • Save it to the desktop.

  • Run Silent Runners by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" on the icon on your desktop.
  • You will receive a prompt:
    • Do you want to skip supplementary searches?click NO
  • You will see a text file appear on the desktop -. Another message box will appear saying: "Silent Runners has started It's not done, let it run (It won't appear to be doing anything!)
  • Once you receive the prompt All Done! The results are in a file that the tool has created You will find it in the same directory as the script or on your desktop. The log is named "Startup Programs (ComputerName) date/timestamp.txt".
  • Open the text file that the tool has created .
  • Copy that entire log, and paste it here.
*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.** Note: If you have a script blocking program you may get a warning asking if you want to allow the script to run. Some will say "malicious script warning" or something to that effect. There is nothing malicious about this script, you can click to allow it to execute.

Please include a Hijackthis log as well.

Let's see if you can stay connected to perform this online scan:
F-Secure Online Scanner
The online scanner is on the bottom right of the page.
Direct link: http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml

Follow the directions on the F-Secure page for proper Installation.

* You may receive an alert on the address bar at this point to install the ActiveX control.
* Click on that alert and then click " Install ActiveX component".
* Read the license agreement and click " Accept".
* Click " Custom Scan" and be sure the following are checked:
  • Scan whole System

  • Scan all files
  • Scan whole system for rootkits
  • Scan whole system for spyware
  • Scan inside archives
  • Use advanced heuristics

* When the scan completes, click the " I want to decide item by item" button.
* For each item found, Select " Disinfect" and click " Next".

* When done, click the " Show Report" button, then copy and paste the entire report into your next reply.

No infection there.
Let's update your Java and run one last online scan. If that doesn't find anything, I have my doubts that your problem is caused by malware.

  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.
  • Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u6 allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each of the Java versions.

  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.

Official JAVA Installation Instructions if needed.

** Please perform a scan with Kaspersky Webscan Online Virus Scanner
1. Click the " Kaspersky Online Scanner" button ( NOT "Kaspersky File Scanner" ).
2. Read the Requirements and Privacy statement, then select " Accept".

4. Click " Yes" or select " Install" to download the ActiveX controls that allows ActiveScan to run.
5. When the download is complete it will say ready, click " Next".
6. Click " Scan Settings" and check the option to use the Extended Database if available otherwise Standard).
7. Click " Scan Options" and select both " Scan Archives" and " Scan Mail Bases".
8. Click " OK".
9. Under " Select a target to scan", click on " My Computer".
10. When the scan is complete choose to save the results as "
Photobucket
Save as Text" named kaspersky.txt to your desktop and post it in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Let's clean the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) cache:
  • Click Start > Control Panel.
  • Double-click the Java icon in the control panel.
  • -The Java Control Panel appears.
  • Click Settings under Temporary Internet Files.
  • -The Temporary Files Settings dialog box appears.
  • Click Delete Files.
  • -The Delete Temporary Files dialog box appears.
-There are three options on this window to clear the cache.
    • Delete Files
    • View Applications
    • View Applets
  • Click OK on Delete Temporary Files window.
  • -Note: This deletes all the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the cache.
  • Click OK on Temporary Files Settings window.
  • Close the Java Control Panel
You can view those instructions along with graphics Here

Let me know how things are running after that.
** Note: Those instructions are for an older version of Java. If they don't match the new version, just run CCleaner:

Download and scan each user profile with CCleaner:
http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds
** Select to download the SLIM version.

** Because CCleaner removes everything in temp folders, if you have anything in a temp folder, back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner.

** We will be cleaning cookies as well. Make a note of any passwords, etc. that you want to save.

1. Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK
" Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"
2. Then select the items you wish to clean up.
In the Windows Tab:
• Clean all entries in the "Internet Explorer" section.
• Clean all the entries in the "Windows Explorer" section.
• Clean all entries in the "System" section.
• Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section.
• Clean any others that you choose.
In the Applications Tab:
• Clean all in the Firefox/Mozilla section if you use it.
• Clean all in the Opera section if you use it.
• Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section.
• Clean any others that you choose.
3. Click the " Run Cleaner" button.
4. A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.
5. Click " OK" and it will scan and clean your system.
6. Click " exit" when done.
REBOOT
