Install Shield Update Manager Removal

I just reformatted my Aunt's dell desktop with XP3. She keeps getting an "error # 3" and there is a symbol by the clock that says "Install Shield Update Manager." I think there is a relationship between the two. From the bit of research that I have done I believe the Install Shield is from the program Word Perfect. I would like to remove the Install Shield Manager. It does not appear in the add/remove programs. Is there a utility that would allow me to remove this program?

Software vendors purchase the Update Service from InstallShield, as a tool to deliver updates to you

Bugbatter-thanks. I will try to do a remote assist on her computer tomorrow to remove the Install Shield Update Manager.
