It usually means that there is an error in the code on the page or that something on your computer is blocking the script from running. If the problem is on the page, that is not your fault. If your computer is not interpreting the page correctly due to malware, browser corruption, etc then you could get false errors.
Some more info from you would be helpful:
What is your operating system?
Version of Internet Explorer?
Anti-Virus? Anti-Spyware?
The more information that the helpers here have, the better they can diagnose the problem. If you do not know the answer to these questions, I can suggest a scan for you to run that will give us more information.
2. If I right click on Internet Explorer icon it states it was created on 26th Aug 2011.
Note: I had a virus, McAfee Total protection did not work as far as I am concerend. I had to have a complete restore of my computer carried out by company recommended by Dell. So they would have, by remote, set up Internet Explorer I presume.
3. I am now using Microsoft Security Essentials. It is up to date and i have carried out a full scan - no problems reported.
4. I also run SpywareBlaster - free version and I do weekly checks.
Copy/paste both logs to your reply on the forum. Do not attach them.
Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. Information on A/V control HERE.
Just had a thought - several days ago I was going to download Roxio I think and then I stopped the download. I cannot remember what I was doing at the time and thought there was no need as I use Windows Media Player. It stopped Media Player working. I went back to System Restore a few days earlier and I was able to carry on 'as normal'.
You did just fine. I still do not see any malware in there. Was this the first time you tried to visit the site since the work was done on your computer in August? Does the error happen on only one website and are you still seeing it?
It sounds as if the error is on the page, or your security is blocking it. If you answer "Yes" that would clear it up. Do you get the same error if you use another computer to access that page?
I'm a grandma too. Sometimes it just takes a bit of time to learn our way around forums. You can either leave the information above, or if you want to delete it, simply click on the little pencil under your post to Edit. Then you can highlight and delete the text if you wish.
In addition, please delete the DDS tool and its logs from your computer. My team of trained volunteers who offer help for free will be participating less at Dell Community after the holidays. If you need support in the future, please feel free to post at SpywareHammer. To go to the site, click on the link in my signature below. Help is free by the trained staff, many of whom are Microsoft MVP's, but you will need to register there in order to post. In addition, there are other options listed at the top of this forum. Some are free; Dell's require a fee.
Something else I thought of is logging out, cleaning cookies, and logging in again. If it is a tracking cookie issue, that may straighten it out.Try running CCleaner:
Download and scan each user profile with CCleaner (a good utility to keep and use regularly.):
** Because CCleaner removes everything in temp folders, if you have anything saved in a temp folder, back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner.
** We will be cleaning cookies as well. Make a note of any passwords, etc. that you want to save.
1. Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"
2. Then select the items you wish to clean up. In the Windows Tab:
Clean all entries in the "Internet Explorer" section.
Clean all the entries in the "Windows Explorer" section
Clean all entries in the "System" section.
Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section.
Clean any others that you choose. In the Applications Tab:
Clean all in the Firefox/Mozilla section if you use it.
Clean all in the Opera section if you use it.
Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section.
Clean any others that you choose.
3. Click the "Analyze" button. When the list of files comes up, click the "Run Cleaner" button.
4. A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.
5. Click "OK" and it will scan and clean your system.
6. Click "exit" when done. REBOOT.
If you are unable to delete your logs, post back here and I will request that a Dell Moderator do it for you. Let me know if you have any questions.
Maybe so. Try unchecking those, Apply>OK, close IE, reboot. Go back and recheck both. Following that. if you still see runtime errors, and running CCleaner did not help, you may need someone to look a bit deeper. My suggestion would be to post in the Malware Removal Forum at SpywareHammer and have the staff trained in malware removal walk you through the diagnostic logs and a cleanup. Help is free, but you will need to register there. In addition, there are other options listed at the top of the Dell Virus & Spyware Forum. Some are free; some require a fee. Please use only one resource. It can be counter-productive to have too many people trying to help. Good luck! :emotion-1:
jamessmithonlinenow1988, your link goes to the same commercial site in all of your posts at Dell Community. It might be good to use a different site as your resource so that Dell does not consider your post as spam.

GillFB,
Thank you for the information. I'm not sure what you are doing weekly checks of with SpywareBlaster. Is it updates that you are checking for?
I still have some other questions, but rather than have you try to find the answers, can you please run the following diagnostic tool?
Please download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
-----------------------------------------------------
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. Information on A/V control HERE.

I really am not sure what I am doing - I hope this is right but it seems to be taking a huge amount of space on this forum.
Finally,
1. I did not understand how to 'disable any script blocker'.
2. I did not disable my MSE - the above worked so was that OK?

That's good.
No - used computer a lot since computer was wiped clean and started again. It has just started to appear a few weeks ago.
Each time it asks if i want to run scrips on this page I answer 'No' - because I do not understand it. Is that right?
Would it help if I record what I am doing each time I get the message?

You did just fine. I still do not see any malware in there. Was this the first time you tried to visit the site since the work was done on your computer in August? Does the error happen on only one website and are you still seeing it?

It sounds as if the error is on the page, or your security is blocking it. If you answer "Yes" that would clear it up. Do you get the same error if you use another computer to access that page?

Thanks again for being so quick to support me. No - I don't have another computer so cannot answer that one.
I was too scared to answer 'Yes' but will in future. I will also make a note of where and when it happens.
How do I delete all the info you wanted? Tried highlighting, right click and no 'delete' option - told you I was only a Grandma.x

Download and scan each user profile with CCleaner (a good utility to keep and use regularly.):
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
** Select to download the SLIM version.

Just out of interest I have gone to Tools in Internet Explorer.
I selected - Advanced - to have a look around.
I have a Tick in two boxes in 'Disable script debugging in Internet Explorer' and also 'Disable script debugging in other'
As I still get this script message on certain sites and this time I select 'Yes' does that mean the 'tick' is not working?
Thank you.

Good luck! :emotion-1:

Yes, java scripts are involved in malware issues.
jamessmithonlinenow1988, your link goes to the same commercial site in all of your posts at Dell Community. It might be good to use a different site as your resource so that Dell does not consider your post as spam.
