Windows Update KB4023057

Anybody else get offered this update today, 9-9-21?

KB4023057: Update for Windows 10 Update Service components

KB4023057 was previously installed on 6-‎18-21. So is today's version an update on that older one or...?

Both are listed as "successful" in the Windows Update History.

??

    @ky331  Thanks for the feedback.

    Any ideas why they pushed it again today?

    I would have thunk if it was an update/fix for the prior version that they would have given it a new KB number. There's nothing on the page I linked to indicate that today's update is "version 2" of that KB.

    Just another in the never-ending series of "Mysteries from Redmond"...

    Keep in mind, the Malicious Software Removal Tool still has the same KB number month-after-month,  KB890830 , even though it is continually updated.

    @ky331  Yes, the MSRT KB number is the same every month, but at least they increment the version number so it's obvious it's new each time:

    MSRT installed here 8-10-21 says v5.92
    MSRT installed here 7-27-21 says v5.91
    MSRT installed here 6-08-21 says v5.90
    etc.

    Just wish they'd tell us what changed and why when they repeat the same KB number without any version numbers.
