Hi my name is Hoov and I will be helping you get your system clean, but I must ask you to do a few things right at the beginning. First, do everything I suggest and nothing more. If something goes wrong, or doesn't work correctly, let me know. This will aid in the troubleshooting process. Second, stick the removal out till the end. This is important even if your computer starts acting normally. I will help get everything off, and make sure that you will be protected in the future, so the whole process is important. I am tearing into your log right now, as soon as I have something for you to do, I will post it up here. It is important you follow my instructions and no more, if malware is removed improperly it makes it harder to remove.
- While we're waiting for Hoov to format your fix, can you give us some idea of what type of things you took out of Startup via MSCONFIG? Were they programs you could identify and do not want running at Startup, or were they files that you did not recognize (possibly malware)?
- Whenever I ended processes in msconfig, I looked them up. Most of the ones removed were processes used by programs I use occasionally, and did not want starting up every time, such as AOL and MSN messenger.Looking at them right now, I'm sure that there are no startup files taken out that are associated with any malware, etc. Actually, msconfig doesn't show me the 4 dll's associated with this (have to use Security Task Manager).
- I appreciate the work you and others have done to correct my problem, but I NO LONGER NEED TO REMOVE WINFIXER.I recently got a new motherboard due to some minor compatibility issues. Because of this, I am reformatting my hard drive. No only will that kill WinFixer, but will also get rid of some drivers left over from my old mb. So again, I appreciate all you have done, but no longer need a fix.But there is one thing I need help with. What are the best programs/methods so that I may avoid this situation in the future?
