Determining Enginuity Pack Level

Quick question.  How can you determine exactly what Enginuity pack level a

VMAX array is at?  For example, I'd like to know if our VMAX 40k is at

5876_251/0028.

Thanks.

Hey Will,

I think you may be looking for the 'Enginuity Build Version' field from the output of 'symcfg -sid list -v'...

For example --

symcfg -sid list -v |grep "Build Version"

    Enginuity Build Version              : 5876.229.145

Thanks,

- Sean

Sean,

Unfortunately, that doesn't give me exactly what I am looking for.  Let me

give you the exact situation.  We are looking at a proactive Enginuity pack

upgrade.  The pack came out on February 10, 2014 for 5876.251.161.  All

of our arrays are already at 5876.251.161, but, as part of a drive upgrade

EMC CCA is stating that we need to be at this new Enginuity pack.  However,

we have four other VMAX arrays, and I want to confirm that those arrays

will need the pack as well (some of those arrays have been upgraded in the

last two months).

According to the release notes for the pack, the packs identifiers are as

follows:

     Enginuity reg. build = 5876_251/0067

     SymmWin reg. build = 5876_151/5004

     Fix numbers = 70035, 68095, 68694, 68720, 67316

     Engineering ID = 4717

So, how can I tell if I'm at this exact pack?

Will,

Unfortunately you can't see applied fix/pack info from SYMCLI/Unisphere... but we can get someone to dial in and check from Inlines. I'll drop you an email...

Thanks,

- Sean

Okay, so that gives a list of the patches.  Cross reference that with the list of

the patches provided in the release notes and I can determine which Enginuity

pack is installed.  Not completely clean, but it works.  Thanks!!

Nice, I wasn't aware of that one -- thanks Dynamox.
