EMC GateKeeper disk Clarification

Few document has mentioned about minimum GK disk requirement for Solution Enabler as

[Number of CGs] * 0.3 = Gatekeeper need for Consistency Group Operation.

Total Number of Gatekeeper to provision = 6 + (GK Needs for CG Operation)

Is this number also true for non- Solution enabler environment i.e. If directly exploit the symcli without any other solution.

Thanks, still a bit confused.

So, would 6 disk good for any number of CGs operation in standalone symcli hosts.??

yes, 6 dedicated gatekeepers has been the practice for stand alone symcli hosts or ECC or Unisphere for VMAX.

i don't have experience with CG , sorry.  I use 6 dedicated gatekeepers for ECC and Unisphere for VMAX ..those two apps send LOTS of syscalls and 6 gatekeepers have been handling it just fine. I can't imageint CG feature needing more.
