FAST VP implementation with VMware SRDS
All
Just was wondering if there are any best practices available to implement FAST VP with VMware storage DRS. In our environment we want to use SDRS to move data between different storage tiers based on retention policies.

Page 168 describes and explains the BP surrounding FAST VP and SDRS. In short though, neither VMware or EMC supports using SDRS with I/O metrics enabled in conjunction with automated storage tiering. Only capacity-based SDRS is supported when automated storage tiering is enabled.

Note that this latest update was a very minor one. We plan (and are working on) a major update for later this year.
