HBA Failure

After HBA failure what are steps to be followed as  a storage administrator?


please help me with the steps inorder to make the LUN available sucessfully after replacing with new HBA.

No, We are going to change the HBA in future. before that need the steps to be prepared.

Please help me with the steps.

  1. Mark the fiber cable(s).
  2. Remove the fiber cable(s) and the HBA that you must replace.
  3. Replace it with a new compatible HBA of similar type in the same slot.
  4. Modify fabric zoning to include the replaced HBA WWPN(s)
  5. Zoning/Masking the old disk to the new HBA
  6. powermt config, # powermt save

should i have to modify the existing zoning or i have to create new zoning for the new HBA.

please clarrify
