How many MIB's will be there in vmax engine ?
How many Matrix Interface Board Enclosures will have in Vmax Engine ?

VMAX 20K has two MIBEs, VMAX 40K has 4 MIBEs.
The modules on the director boards that connect to the MIBEs are called Systems Interface Boards (SIB).
VMAX 20K directors have 1 SIB with a connection to each MIBE, so 2 connections to the Virtual Matrix per director, or 4 per Engine.
VMAX 40K directors have two SIBs, each SIB has 2 ports, each port connecting to a different MIBE, so 4 connections to the Virtual Matrix per director, or 8 per engine.
Download the Symmetrix Viewer from Powerlink. You can drill down into each system and look at all of these components. It's pretty cool.

Each Director will have a Virtual Matrix Interface (ASIC or System Interface Board) with an A and B port. The ASIC is used to bridge memory control hub access and the RapidIO IPC. Each engine has two directors - odd and even.
