Question

I haven't worked on VNX5800 & Clariion cx4-240 before but have experience in VMAX.

Could you guys please help me with the list of documents I need and probably if someone can share some templates that would help me document the environment in a better way. The customer doesn't hav good process in place, so would be a lot of effort for me.

Hi,

I am not sure if I am reading your query correctly. If you have experience in the VMAX, the VMAX10K should be relatively the same, minus maybe some hardware differences depending on the versions. I don't have a template of a Knowledge Transfer, but a test and acceptance plan might be a good start. There are also a few white papers out there on Local Replication with the 10K here and some of the 10K manuals.

for VMAX 10k , it should be the same feature wise as the 20k and 40k.

But look at the following,

The engine architecture of the 10k versus other models,

VP SNAP in local replication,
The biggest difference is the 10k is 100% thin provisioned.
Floor tile space is one floor tile.
The engine and the drives can exist in the same bay.
The communication between the engines via Ethernet.
