Management host, gatekeepers and regular LUNs

I'm running running Eng 75.

Since GKs can only be attached to a single HBA I created 2 separate masking views, each containing a unique intiator group, a unique port group and a unique storage group.

Now I need to add 2 normal LUNs to this host, but I'm not sure how to do this. Do I need to add the tdevs to each of the existing storage groups or can I create a new masking view containing a new init group, a new port group and a new storage group? I'm not able to create a new init group since initiators can only be part of a single init group and adding both existing init groups to my new masking view fails.

Any tips?

Try to create masking view with cascaded IG containing the the two IG's, same PG's and different SG which contains the 2 normal LUN's.

With Enginuity 5875? I read somewhere that this is only supported from version 76 or did I miss something?

Only for enguinity 5876(SE 7.4), single path GK devices are required

Refer emc255976

NOTE:

Prior to SE 7.4 and Enginuity 5876, multipathed Gatekeepers without PowerPath may have worked.  Starting with Solutions Enabler 7.4, Gatekeeper selection has become stricter when running third party multipathing software. What may have worked before may not work with Solutions Enabler 7.4 and Enginuity versions prior to 5876.

If you have powerpath you can dual path gatekeepers.

Rules for Multi-Pathing GateKeepers
Until now, we have only supported multipathed Gatekeepers when running EMC Powerpath. Beginning with Enginuity 5876 and Solutions Enabler 7.4, we will support a limited set of third party multipathing solutions on a limited set of platforms. The following Multipathing Software applications is will be supported; Powerpath, Veritas, and Native Multipathing. These are supported, on AIX, HPUX, Linux, Solaris, and Windows.

As always, See E-Lab Navigator for an up-to-date list of supported versions of what EMC supports.

We use PowerPath with our AIX servers, the only paper i can think of is the "Host Connectivity Guide for AIX".
