Open Replicator Migration from VPLEX to non-EMC storage array

Open Replicator is a feature of VMAX. If a VMAX array is neither the source nor destination array, then it will not apply in this scenario.

Why not use VPLEX data mobility?

I Can't use data mobility because the non-Emc storage ( target array) is not behind the vplex. And we don't want it there. We want to provision directly from it in the end state.

while I think using DM migration is the easiest (putting pure behind vplex temporary), the remaining migration solution would to use SAN copy push (from the source VNXs), use host-based copy, or use pure's migraiton solution (pull sort of solution if they have any).

is there something special that needs to be done with this temporary approach of having the non-emc (pure)  behind the vplex?  would the server be able to read the lun ok  won't the encapsulation of the vplex affect the  lun anyhow?

I see what you saying. And the data on the luns would still be intact?  my question won't this process degrade the luns in the end-state?

check connectivity(vplex - pure), provision(mask/zone) target pure luns to vplex, do a DM migration on vplex. you can do everything online without disruption until here.  at the time of migration, take the server offline, collapse all the lun settings in vplex, switch over connections(zone/masking) so the host is directly connected to target pure lun.

don't really understand what "degrade the luns" mean, but if the process is done correctly, data will be intact.
