Open Replicator Permissions to Remote Array

Question

I am trying to setup replication from a Vmax-1 to a Vmax All-Flash but Open Replicator does not see the control or remote FA I have setup in zoning and masking.  symsan commands confirm that the zoning is correct and i can see the remote device. Has something to do with this statement out of the Open Replicator guide. n Any VMAX3 array FA port, connected to the remote array and granted access to the remote devices, can be used for Open Replicator sessions. This is a change from earlier versions of ORS where the ports involved in Open Replicator sessions had to be FA ports where the volumes were mapped. 4 ports do show up as control FAs but not the ones I have selected, and not sure how they were selected....answer??

I am using the free version, so only a pull. I can see the control/remote FA’s from symsan but not using OR in Unisphere 8.2. I have this working between a Vmax3 and a Vmax-1. Using the same setup, cannot get it working on the Vmax200 AF to do a pull.

are you pushing or pulling ? How did you determine that you can't see the control/remote FA ?

that statement means that you are no longer required to use the same FAs where volumes are mapped to for OR push/pull operations.

do you see errors when issuing symrcopy commands ?

So, using symrcopy I can create the job and it shows up in OR as a session where it can be run…. However, the source and target FAs still do not show up in OR SAN view.

This has to be something in Unisphere……
