Performance Alerts for DA(Backend Ports)

Question

Hi Everyone,

We have a VMAX array with SSD,FC, SATA thin pools. SSD,FC,SATA thin pools are 89%,85% and 37% utilized respectively.

I am getting lot of DA % busy more then 85% alerts from unisphere every day.

So curious to know "Does these alerts occur when data gets de-stage from Cache to Physical Drives ?"

Is there a way to control DA utilization to not reach 80% ?

What could be the possible impact if DA remain more then 85% Busy for a long time ??

I dont like reds in my performance reports. if it remains that high then what if there is a DA failure? You can start with small steps like:

1) change the move time window to non peak hours (if fast vp is configured)

2) look at relocation rate.
