SCSI3-Persistient for win2008 sql cluster
Hello, I will be presenting DMX4 volumes as well as VMAX volumes to several win2008 sql cluster nodes. These will be striped meta vols (thin vols for VMAX). I beleive when creating vols for VMAX I donot need to check the SCSI3-Persist box (this may be the new default for vmax). For DMX metas I beleive I can create all the meta members with out the SCSI3-Persist flag but then set it with CLI on the meta heads.
Do I have this correct? Any other considerations.
Thanks.

you need to set it for DMX4 and VMAX volumes
set device 0864 attribute=scsi3_persist_reserv;

Interesting, I was told it was set on the VMAX by default.
What about the meta members? Do they need the setting or just the meta heads.
Thanks - Brad

ok this sounds good. I'm at 5876 on vmax so no need to set scsi3_persit_reserv at all. On the dmx4 I will not set for meta members but will set for meta heads.
