TF VP Snaps for Gold Copies

Hi,

I am trying to pull together scenarios where TF VP Snaps are completely un-usuable while using them as Gold Copy for R2. I understand that they are rely or dependent on source which is R2 in this case. What cases would make the snapshot not usable for recovery based on changes/corruption on R2 source?
