Unisphere for Vmax (Intial Setup User)

I am about to install unisphere for VMAX on a dedicated VM.

Symmetrix autorization for  user is enabled.

I i am going to give the initial setup user as "unisphere" during the install.

1)  Does that unisphere user need to be added first onto the vmax autorization and then be used during unisphere install.

2) Or first use the unisphere user name during install and later added it onto the vmax autorization list ?

We already have smc up and runing on a seperate vm , so dont want to the use the default user id SMC/SMC.

And dont want to create any issue on the actively running smc / spa .

Please advice.....

The order in which you install/add the username to the symauth database doesn't matter.  You will, however, need to add the "unisphere" username to the symauth database prior to logging into Unisphere for the first time.

you would still have to use the default "smc/smc" account to login for the first time to unisphere. Once you are logged in then create unisphere user and use it to login.
