Vmax: health check automation.

Does, any one know, how  to make the health check automation on vmax. We don’t have ECC in our data center.

Currently we are monitoring manually on daily basis..its taking lot of time to login to each box

These are Policies such as This device usage/allocation, device pool status/config changes, RDF links and environmental alerts etc.. which we need to monitor daily.

Would you please help if you have any idea how to do this. Also if we get alerts on emails, that will ease our job a lot.

Hi,

I am doing this daily health check using a windows scheduler. I have created a batch files with cli commands and created a scheduler to task to run on daily basis and created a vb script to send automated email with log containing the cli command output

HI Mohan,

Hope you are doing well . All those things you can do from SMC. Starting from SMC 7.2.1, we are providing email alerts for thin dev usage, allocation, rdf links and other environmental alerts. It only tells when some value hits the threshold. it will not give you a daily report. For daily report, you can use scripting as Anoop said.

Hi Saurabh, Doing good dude. Hope all is well.

you are right with SMC. It works only when its hit threshold value. How ever i need daily health checks. Probably i need to work on Anoop Solution.

Hi All,

This is Anoop here..Sorry I dont have the script handy with me now because I switched my job and company. You can itself creae the script..Collect the cli commands like, checking drive status, rdf port status, hotspare status, env data etc and create a batch file using it,fetch the output to a txt file, configure a smpt to send email notification to your team with the txt file attached.
