VMAX: question about cache contention

Hi,

EMC said about zone rules: go spread before to go deep. It means you should zone more FAs to improve performance.

Hyperbolic example: VMAX with 4 engines, host with 2 hbas zoned with all directors. Read and write requests will be satisfied from different Directors and relative on boarding cache.

The question is: could that SAN implementation impact on cache? I'm thinking about the looukup requests against cache directors performed by hba hosts (please see the close VPLEX architecture).
