Hi,
Environment:
VMAX250F
Different MV with different IG and PG but same SG
OS: ESX
Target:
I want to create only one MV with all IG, PG and same SG
Question:
is it possible to perform such actions online? I don't remember where i can find in literature such option.

Mario_kart,
Here is a link to Unisphere for VMAX Online Help & if you look on page 398 it explains about changing masking views.

Could you be more specific.
Let's say i have an ESX with 20 clusters, i can make one MV for complete ESX.
1 MV= 1 PIG(20 CIG) + 1 PG(with all ports) + 1 SG
but this setup will have its own limitation if you want to share something out of this box, it will be again a tough task for you.
Literature can be found in admin guide.

Hi
I have an ESX with 4 clusters with different MVs but SAME SG, I want consolidate all in one MV.
1 MV= 1 PIG(4 CIG) + 1 PG(with all ports) + 1 SG
There will be any impact on host side? Any detached DS events? In short: moving the config on storage side will deconnect anything on host?
In Admin Guide I was not able to find this info.
Regards,
Mario

Hello Mario_kart,
It is best to call in and have a copy of your support logs as well so that we can review them to let you know of any issues that may happen when you do this change.

Hi Moderator,
thanks for your support. Indeed what I need is only the literature referement to this (if existing) feature.
I think to have read some about years ago there is a chance to move initiator from 1 masking to another with the same SG visibility, without impact, but I cannot find it anymore.
Thanks in advance,
Mario
