What happens when VMAX is off maintenance contract?
Hi,
I have customer asking me what happens when VMAX array comes off maintenance contract, can customer still log in to Service Processor and for example replace HDD?

Time and Material is an option but it is handled on "best effort" basis, you will be the last one in the queue to get service/parts. ESRS for that frame is disabled, they will need to monitor the array themselves. If your customer is running critical application i would have them talk to the local service team so they understand their options.

In you case, your customer still have to order new HDD to replace failed one from EMC and request one time replacing service from EMC customer service. But the box is out of monitoring from EMC remote service.

it does not have to be EMC, there are plenty of 3rd party companies that would be happy to pick up hardware maintenance contract, they won't mess with software/enginuity.
