While taking snap on the server. (VMAX)

While taking snaps on the server they are not able to take it.

I checked on symsnap list for that array i dont see any disk what they are using.

And i dont see any device groups on that array.

Add the -pool flag to that command:

symcfg -sid 123 list -pool -snap -gb

its giving error as -snap: Incompatible option

Is the pool enabled, does it have free space, and is it named DEFAULT_POOL?

The first DEFAULT_POOL (the FBA pool) is the one you would use by default for TF/Snap, and in your case that pool is Disabled and does not contain any devices.

Hi Kgoudus,

in order to ensure that the pool is enabled, that there is free space and etc, try to execute the command with file and not with device group.

symsnap -sid <> -f create -svp -noprompt.

In your case is

; symsanp -sid <> -f <> create -svp DEFAULT_POOL -noprompt

What is the output? What do you get back as a feedback from this command?

Okay before i went to use the above command.

i asked the customer to check the command and the name was misplaced. Now everything works good they are able execute the command now.

Thanks for all. I learn some commands and knowledge from you. Thanks and please keep posting for my questions
