Currently VMware only have SRM to provide automated disaster recovery. As SRM is designed for site-to-site replication, it only works with remote replication as RecoverPoint CRR. Although Recoverpoint CDP is unaffected by SRM operations, it is still remain available for use with 'Group is in maintenance mode, it is managed by RecoverPoint'.
I believe your questions should be splited to two parts. Becase 3.2 indeed support CLR CGs, which is with ability to repliate from the production to local copy (the "CDP' part). Please check RecoverPoint Adapter 1.0SP3.
Regarding CDP - it is assumed on roadmap(with priority? not sure) - since by nature the SRM solution assumes a seperate virtual center at each site always with different network and different set of arrays and LUNs. Quite different from typical CDP scenario.
