Virtualizing Oracle?

Hi, has anyone started or thinking about virtualizing their Oracle databases?

All of our Oracle databases (about 15 of them) are virtualized under VMware.  It's fully supported by Oracle (except in the case of RAC, which we do not use) and works great.  In fact, having the functionality VMware provides with HA and snapshots, it's much easier for us to run Oracle virtualized than non-virtualized.

The other DBA and I were speaking the other day about how we wouldn't even want to work at a place without VMware to aid in running Oracle.

For the record, these are some of the products we're running virtualized with Oracle under VMware:

    Oracle E-Business Suite

    Oracle Agile

    Oracle Hyperion

    Oracle Universal Content Manager

    Sabrix tax accounting

and a few smaller products very few people have heard of.

We also run Oracle under VMware. Both middleware and database servers.

We're running ESX 4.0 on top of Cisco UCS & EMC storage.

No issues so far, we have been running the Oracle environment for about 4 months now.
