Access auditing on a VNXe with Varonis DatAdvantage

Question

I have a Varonis DatAdvantage platform deployed in my company for auditing and monitoring access to storage resources. I am thinking on purchasing some VNXe 3100 filers and I would like to know if anybody has already done it and know pros and cons from their experience.

I would appreciate any information regarding this.

Please check with both products support matrixes

You should be able to do on the VNXe what your are doing via the CIFS Windows protocol.

You cant use the CEPA auditing API – that’s not supported in the VNXe – but I think Varonis uses that mostly for NFS auditing.

Hi Rainer,

I will use the VNXe for CIFS not NFS, so I just want to monitor cifs events. If CEPA auditing API is not supported in the VNXe I'll have to consider other storage options.

I think Varonis can just as well use regular Windows CIFS auditing – that is supported on the VNXe
