The initial problem looked to be an easy on to fix in that once the broadcast has been used the VNX Installation Assistant will keep a memory of it. There should have been an option to continue with one in progress. However if that was not the case then I would say that the VNX is stuck partly configured and finishing it up manually would be the best option if you feel comfortable with linux commands and naviseccli commands. Otherwise I would follow a backend cleanup and then an reinstall using the EI-DVD. This may have become a re-install situation because of the commands that were run afterward. To determine which is best please run the following commands and looks for the following output:
1.) login to the control station via serial using the default root user/pass.
2.) run command: cat /etc/hosts
- Look at the output... does it have your public IP addresses for SPA, SPB, Control Station and Other Control Station?
- If it does then the box is partly configured and we may just need to finish it up manually....if the IP addresses aren't listed then it would be easiest just to start over.
3.)run command: /nasmcd/sbin/clariion_mgmt -info
- Look at the output....does it have your public IP addresses for SPA or SPB?
- If it does then we will probably want to manually configure....if not then we will want to reisntall.
- Does the output have your SPA, SPB, CS0, and CS1 in the output?
- If not but the rest up above is setup then we can run a process for fusing the storage domain. I can give instructions once we know that we are good to that point.
you are saying that the above commands must be executed before proceeding with emc257758. by the way from where can I found the Express Installation DVD, there is no such kind of DVD with system shipped I have checked.
i have tried to download EI-DVD from support.emc.com but it is locked. I have also tried to get it from our local representative. but neither they didn't want to give me. they said they are the one who suppose to do it which comes with a fee. and since it is not a big deal i want to handle it by my own. So, could you help me if there is a way where i can get the media by myself.

Hi,
if you are not an EMC service partner then it will be difficult to get this.
you can still try to open a SR and ask support if it's possible to get this.

Dear Patrick,
Here are the screen shots of output from the commands that you insisted to be executed. Please assist on how to proceed.
