Error trying to add host to storage group

I've been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why I'm getting this message and I can't find this error on Powerlink other than a reference to a single PDF that just has a list of error codes (but no explanation).

Since I am also installing new fibre channel switches, I even eliminated them from the mix by connecting this single ESXi 5.0 test server directly to the VNX SP's. Still gives this error so apparently I had my zoning correct.

(BTW: it took me *forever* to find where Connectivity Status was hidden in Unisphere - I think I miss Navisphere )

I do see that listed under software:

But I just saw this too:

I can't believe I didn't notice this until now.  How do I fix this?  The VNX (our 2nd one in 3 weeks, yeah, long story) was installed this time around by a local EMC CE. Maybe he missed something basic in the initialization wizard?

Thanks, I'll see if I can find the disc tomorrow and fix it.  I'll be giving the CE a ton of grief over this!

yeah, i was watching my CE when he was configuring my box and he did not use my CDs but his own directory with tons of enablers. Give him/her a call and let him/her have it

Typically the Block Enabler is installed at the factory

Hmm, this is all I have on disc that I can find.  I'm assuming the CE that installed this Monday maybe went through the initialization wizard and accidentally selected file only?

Got the block enabler from the CE and installed it.  Whaddya know, I can actually create a storage group with a host in it now

However, the main dashboard does still show the model as "VNX5300 (File)", so I'm not sure if the issue is completely resolved....

Haha yeah I figured that wasn't what you meant.  It actually corrected itself it appears, now says "(Unified)".  Sweet.
