Hello,

That i've done:

1.Cable system according manual.

2.Power VNX System- VNX5300 Unified procedure.

3.Check all  Ambers is blue-no system error.

4.Run "Unisphere initialization Utility" and (please see attached file).

And i can access storage on this IPs trought "Unisphere Service Manger"

Powered donw all system and powered up again but SPs obtain the same IPs during discovery..

i wonder if you have to use VNX Installation Assistance because it configures both VNX Block and VNX File, it should be on your CD

No,

This is new system there is no user/customer data.

I've tried to powered up only VNX SP without Xblade and CS and result is the same.

Tried to connect my laptop PSA and SPB to one switch and i can discover again system but can access.

My laptop SPs all are in the same subnet but can access...:(

If you have a Unified System (file+block with control station and data movers) than you used the wrong setup tool

Please see the VNX5300 installation guide from page 39 onwards

You MUST use the VNX Installation Assistant for File/Unified and NOT the one for block.

On a Unified system the SP's are accessed trough the control stations Ethernet port.

Please open a case with EMC support to get your system back into a state where the correct installation assistent can be run.

Most likely you have to change the SP's IP addresses back to their default before you can run it.

I've tried VNX Installation Assistent for File/Unified, but he can discover mac on CS0 and CS1.

Tried to connect with cross-over cable between my Laptop and CS0 or CS1-same problem Assistent for File/Unified can't find mac on CS.

i will try with com port and serial cable to reset/set mac on CS.

Hmm if initial set up of system is trought CS0..i can access CS0 trought com port.

So if i learn commands i can set up all CS0,CS1 SPA SPB IPs and names.

Am i right?

My VNX now is up and running:).

I found command to set ip trought CS0.

But now i can't log on it...:(

I have to use root, nasadmin, sysadmin user and passwords to log in or there is another default account?

If you have never configured the control station and the startup assistant doesn’t find it – please look at the help and Knowledgebase

There are several Windows based problems (firewall, multiple interfaces, ..) that can prevent its working

Basically it sends out a multicast request and any unconfigured control stations respond with their Mac address

The startup assistant is the customer supported way to install and configure the system.

If you work behind its back you just make it more difficult.

Sure its possible to manually configure the system – but only if you really know the system

Please open a service request and get help from EMC customer service to get the startup assistant working
