VNX systems with the current code does not support joining two systems in the same domain (mentioned in the release notes). This is being planned to be supported in an upcoming software patch.

VNX and CX4 systems cannot be managed in the same Unisphere session currently. This will be fixed in an upcoming code release for VNX.

Can a CX4 and a VNX be joined into the same domain?
If you login CX4 first and dropdown more systems you have a add button and can select the VNX.
Can you add the VNX that way?
If you go to VNX first there is no add button.

Hi,
that means it is not possible to configure a fully functional MirrorView/S connection between two VNX 5100?
I ask that because it is a requirement of MirrorView/S to have both machines in one domain.

It cannot be done using Unisphere, but you can do it via CLI. See EMC Knowledgebase article emc262013

Hi,
to create a remote mirror you could to use CLI :
CREATE A MIRROR
naviseccli -h -user -password -scope 0 mirror -sync -create -name -lun -usewriteintentlog
ADD A SECONDARY IMAGE
naviseccli -h -user -password -scope 0 mirror -sync -addimage -name -arrayhost -lun

Hi Nico,
thank you for your help.
MirrorView/S is up and running.
I´m looking forward for the Unisphere version with full MirrorView / multi Domain support.

Hi,
i see you make a replication aynchrone.
Does the link between 2 arrays exist ? (Mirroview connection)
have you create reserverd LUN ?
