Thankyou for your attention. After many attempts (~15) I was able to get the complete file and have the checksum match up.

I have applied the update successfully.

So I will not be needing the ftp site.

I'm having issues downloading the update too. Three times so far and the file is a different size each time?? The VNXe rejects the candidate saying it is corrupt?? Very strange.....

Anyone having issues installing this upgrade? I'm a little gun shy to be an early adopter this time around....

I feel stupid, but how do I use the checksum to verify the download?

hey no worries...

how to use check sum,

1) grab the check sum value from the web site and keep for later reference

2) if on linux just run md5sum

    if on windows I use the freeware WinMD5Free.exe from www.winmd5.com, execute the program and select the firmware file and let it calculate

Both options windows or linux will return a checksum of the firmware file, compare this value to the checksum value you saved for reference from the emc website for the particular firmware file

3) if the two values are the same then the downloaded file is exactly as the one on emc website.

Same issue with me, switched browser from Firefox to IE and it completed.  Checksum valid.

I am unable to get the file to download as well. I have tried multiple times from multiple browsers. Can someone help me out with the FTP link?

IE 9.06 worked for me.  Firefox failed twice.  Create a support case requesting this particular code via FTP if all else fails.  On a side note, when you get it and go thru the upgrade, let me know if you experience any lost connection from Unisphere to the VNXe, I did but things completed successfully in the end.  My advise, don't watch it, come back in about an hour.

Got the file downloaded using Chrome, but it still gives the error when I'm uploading (yes, the MD5's match...)

Be sure that the peer Storage Processor is operating properly and not in Service Mode, then upload the update candidate again. If this does not resolve the problem, record the error code and refer to the Product Support Page for support options. (Error Code: 497)"

Health checks show everything is fine.

Something just isn't right here...

Automatic FTP account removal in 7 Days 

Even after using FTP to get this update, I still cannot get it to upload to the system.  I have even rebooted both SP's.  I get this message after trying to upload:

I suggest to open a support case and one of the engineeres will have to work with you to get this fixed.

Support got the file to upload.  From what I could tell, the problem was the filename.  Windows had incremented the filename each time I downloaded it so I was trying to upload the file named VNXe-MR3SP1-upgrade-2.3.1.19462-RETAIL.tgz.bin (2).gpg
