New size expanded LUN not visible in Host

Question

It's common to expand your LUN in a Pool on your VNX in 2 seconds. Just hit expand - add the new size - and you are done! Repeat this on your failoversite with the same LUN and you are all set to go.

In your disk management do a rescan on your host and extend volume.

Except I can't see the new value on the Windows host after a rescan. Does this have something to do with Recoverpoint? I can't imagine I have to break down the whole replication consistency groups to expand a LUN?

What am I missing here, please advise

I'd expect you would need to break the mirror, expand both sides and mirror the LUNs again. You do have an option not to do an initial sync if you know for sure nothing changed.

BUT

I don't know about RP. I don't have any experience with that yet.
