Hi

usually you go with the latest go-to code for your system which you can see on support.emc.com

pre-checks are done by USM

checking compatibility can be done through elabnavigator.emc.com and looking at the RecoverPoint release notes.

For D) I would suggest to open a service request

A> How do I check the compatibility version for my environment for upgrading?

This is the hard part - you have lots of stuff in your environment - hosts, switches, HBA's, etc. The E-Lab from support.emc.com has a wizard that guides you through the process of checking the hosts to the array. I'd start by seeing if all the devices in E-Lab are aligned to what your array and version (the target version) look when you run E-Lab.

B> I am planning for an NDU upgrade, so what are the pre check I need to take care before I start

USM has the upgrade pre-health check that you can run.

C>A Recovery Point is attached, so how do I check the compatibility version for Recovery point and OE version.

Usually the RP software on the array will get upgraded with the Flare upgrade, but you'd need to check which version on RP you're running.

D>Or there is any other solution for without upgrading remove the amber light from the machine.

If you have a fault light on the array, you'll need to get that fixed before any upgrade. There should be some message in the Event Logs indicating what that is - if in doubt, contact support.
