SMI-S
Chaps,
Being a complete fool at anything which requires coding, I was looking at using SMI-S to help me automate capacity monitoring, from what I can gather you can use CIM commands which are very similar SQL to query SMI-S or am I barking up the wrong tree.
does anyone have any examples of code I could use?
thanks in advance
Phukon

We may not be able to recommend any specific tool however there are many scripting languages available online that can be mastered easily.

See EDN https://community.emc.com/community/edn/unified?view=overview
Depend if you want to use it for file or for block – SMI-S block (Clariion) has an additional developer forum

Hello Rainer,
I'm also interested in SMI-S coding. Where can I find this SMI-S Block forum?
Thanks,
Stéphane

If you want to skip the step of coding something yourself, have a look into VNX M&R (Monitoring & Reporting) or ProSphere.

Hello Rainer,
thanks for your answer.
Nevertheless, this DNS host (imgforums.lss.emc.com) doesn't resolve. Is it an EMC internal host?
