Settings ->  Service System (enter password for service account). Then on right side select "Enable SSH"

Yeah, I have tried both and neither work. I assume maybe it was a seperate password that was defined at initial setup, but I inherited the box, so I am not sure. If anyone else knows - please let me know.

thanks

That im not 100% sure, I have never tried it. The SSH was intended purely to use for/with EMC support/enginering  from what i have been told so its really not a supported thing for the user. If it were me i would just try both the admin account and service account and see if either or both worked. Wouldn't think it would hurt to try them both and see what happens....worst case senario is that is just denies you log in.

Got it - somehow I overlooked that. Can you tell me though, where do you set- or reset the SSH password? Do you have to use the admin account to ssh?

The ssh password is the same password used to access the Service screen in the GUI (where you enabled ssh). You can reset it using the "Change Service Password" operation on the Service screen in the GUI.

As was noted, ssh access is only for service and support operations - there are no general management operations accessible via ssh.

There's also a physical button on the back of the disk-processor enclosure which, when pressed briefly, will reset the admin and service account passwords. For more information on this, open the product's Online Help and navigate to "Servicing your system" --> "Troubleshooting problems" --> "Resetting admin and service account passwords to their default values".
