Unisphere Host Agent for Hyper-V server 2012 R2

When I installed first, it has got installed and still its working fine , I am able to see the same in EMC also  but i am not able to uninstall & give same error as above.

I am having the exact same issue, I cannot get this version installed on Server 2012 R2. Were you able to find a workaround or a version which worked?

The only solution I could find was to manually register the fibre cards associated with the 2012 R2 hosts from within Unisphere.

I am having exactly the same issue. Went through an Instant chat session, referenced these community posts. I was told latest host agent I had 1.3.1.1.0033 was supported on R2 but that I should contact Microsoft for support, Really Helpful !!!

As above I can manually register but I assume a later agent version is in the pipeline which will work with R2, but as to when this is released who knows.

Would be nice if anyone knows when this issue is likely to be fixed ?

Thanks for the feedback Gary. I have opened a case with EMC in hopes to get an answer around this. I will update this post when I hear back.

I was able to get the agent to install by setting the compatibility level to Windows 7 on the installer.

Edit:  This allowed the agent to log in, but did not register the Hosts.  Still had to manually register.

I have since tried installing "UnisphereHostAgent-Win-32-x86-en_US-1.3.1.1.0033-1.exe" with the same error.

I haven't tried installing using compatibility settings as running on Hyper-V server the GUI isn't available and I have yet to investigate running like this from the command line or PowerShell.

I'm currently talking with EMC about expansions so will try and get confirmation about compatibility with 2012 R2

I tried setting the compatibility to Windows 7 and that did the trick. I was able to get this installed on Server 2012 R2. On a side note I opened a case with EMC regarding this issue, and they informed me that a version of the agent that will support 2012 R2 officially is slated for Q1 2014 release.

Update: Although I was able to get it installed and the service will start it does not register with my VNX.

Correct, a version of the agent will be released (ETA: Q1 2014) that officially supports Windows 2012 R2 as documented in the following post:

I have test it and it seems that it is not fully supported.

Hosts are seen as Windows 2012/ Not R2, auto register is not working and you still need to be in Windows 7 mode in order to install the agent...

Just a followup:

Please see the following KB article - it's about compatibility mode for the host agent and windows 2012. It appears that version 1.3.0.1.0051-1 support Windows 2012 R2 but not the Data Center version. Support for Data Center version is supposed to in a later version.

I'm trying to install this version now, and it doesn't seem to be working. I'm in the process of engaging support and will let you know what I find.

When you open the case please reference this thread (use the link to this discussion) and also reference "AR 815992". Please ensure that you're using the most current version of Host Agent.
