VNX 7500 Data mover Configuration for devices and interfaces.
I have a few Questions regarding Data movers(X-Blades) config..and any help is highly appreciated.
Current configuration :
our environment has two Data Movers in Active StandBy configuration.
Each Data Mover has 4 devices fxg 1-0, fxg 1-1, fxg 2-0, fxg 2-1. (fxg 2-0, fxg 2-1 are reserved production instance which will go live next month)
one Logical device Link aggregation channel(LACP) "LACP_101" created on Server_2 (primary DM) from fxg 1-0, fxg1-1.
interface "NFS_CIFS" (vlan 103)created from the above Logical device "LACP_101".
My Concerns are :
1) Does the Link aggregation channel ("LACP_101")also has to be created on stand by Data mover, for it to pass NFS/cifs traffic properly during an failover event.
2) Does the same interface "NFS_CIFS" has also to be created on the standby DataMover.
3) Can multiple interfaces be created on the same link aggregation channel "LACP_101" form different vlans.
4) Does the current configuration of Datamovers allow for a proper failover. (w.r.t to the current interface and devices config)
find the attached screenshots.

Thank you for the Reply dynamox, i will also consider the suggestion for LACP spanning different Physical cards.
would a new route in the Routes tab has to be added for a new interface when it is created ??

1) during failover, standby datamover takes over primary datamover identity. That means it takes over all configurations ..so as long as standby datamover is configured identically from physical and logical configuration from switch perspective, it will work just fine.
2) same as #1
3)yes, just need to tag it on the switch side and then when you create new interfaces specify VLAN id.
4) looks fine from configuration perspective, as long as standby datamover is cabled up and configured the same as primary datamover.
Whenever i setup LACP for the very first time and datamover is not in service yet, i perform manual failover and fail back to make sure standby configuration is working properly. One thing that i would do i would create LACP between fx-1 and fx-2, i believe each fx-x represents a different card on datamover so for extra redundancy my LACP would span two different physical cards.

when you create new interfaces, VNX will automatically configure route that matches interfaces IP address but if you need to define another gateway you can always add static route.
