We provided a way to verify ConnectEMC is working from Unisphere under Alert Settings. It requires that you send a test message to EMC. To learn more how to do this watch the short video training on "How to Set Alerts" from the VNXe Product Page.
One piece of feedback... When I clicked on the link to access this video, it launches the video through Saba. Ugh. Takes a long time to come up, 3 or four windows are opened, etc. Good video. Bad overall user experience.

When you send a connectEMC test, a dial home SR is opened against this VNXE in the site where it is installed and then canceled automatically.
If your account has access to the site you can check it, make sure that you set your account to display dial home SRs.
