Let me just sum up for you the info above.

Clariion - Mid-range FC-SAN\iSCSI storage system with controllers (Service Processor) architecture.

the SP are basically active-active - each LUN owned by one controller but can be accessed from the other one (in cases of path\hardware failure).

The storage bay can be mixed with SAS,SATA and EFDs for better cost-effective solution. CX-4 series have new capabilities such FAST (like the VMAX), FAST-cache and virtual provisioning.

VNX - Unified storage system that offers the NAS capabilities of EMC's Cellera and the SAN capabilities of EMC's Clariion in the same array (file and block level).

VNX also offers new technologies like FAST, Thin-Prov and mixed disk technologies like SAS and EFD.

Both solution can be managed in same platform - Unisphere.

A zone is a logical pairing of two WWNs to allow communication of SCSI Initiator and target

A VSAN is a virtual san.  It's a group of WWNs which are allowed to talk to each other.  Similar to a network VLAN.

Vastly depends on the model and goal.  I'd engage your EMC team.

Mapping is assigned a LUN to an Array's Fiber Port (SP in VNX) and is not something you need to do, directly. Masking is the act of making a LUN accessible to a server's WWN.   Both of these are done, basically, with the creating of a storage group.

A hyper is, generally, small unit of storage create from physical drivers which you join together to create a larger device.

Different models of the same family of Clariion product line.  Has lots of sub models.... 4 is generally better, faster  and bigger, than the equivalent CX3 model.

on a side note,  a lot of this is basic information which is covered many times over in a lot more detail in historical posts. Of you'd like to know more,  i'd suggest that as a starting point.  In addition to Information Storage and Management book is a great foundation.

It covers all of the questions and topics you mention except for those that are specifically asking about a particular array model since it was written to be vendor agnostic (there are just a few pages of "Concepts in Practice" in the training which apply the topics to specific EMC hardware).  In fact, I had just recently picked up the VILT (Video Instructor Led Training), read the material on a long trip to and from Taiwan, and recently took the exam.  It was very well organized and would recommend it to *anyone* but in particular those starting out in the field.  It is an foundation course and also can be the beginning of the EMC Proven Professional certification track which (imho of course) is well recognized in the industry and respected; sometimes required depending on the company/position (in particular EMC partners).
