Vostro 220, HDD compatibility

Hi,

I have a Dell Vostro 220 which belongs to my mother in law, running Windows 7 32-bit. Her HDD is dying so I'm looking to replace it with either 500GB or 1TB.

First of all, will the 220, old as it is, handle a 1TB HDD?

Second, if I upgrade to WIn10 (which I'm assuming I'm going to have to do with Microsoft no longer supporting Windows 7), is it possible to install Win10 64-bit or will it have to be a 32-bit version?
