Broken Hinges

I am student bought this laptop back in 2021 just for light usage . My usage is not more than 4-5 hours a month . Even there are months when a barely use this. With 2 years light usage it showed up issues in the hinges which certainly every other customer with this chasis faces . So called down the customer support and got it replaced as it was in warranty they got it  fixed with no fee. And i was assured of no such issues in future. But just  6 months back i faced the same issue . The right hinge just came out of the panel. I went to every other store in Gurgaon(Even Delhi) and tried contacting customer support as well but no support was provided and after running here and there for a month i kept this laptop aside and promised never to trust dell again.

The issue is not no support -- it's an expired warranty and pay for support.

If you're not happy with this system, you'll be equally unhappy with a consumer grade system from Lenovo, HP, ASUS, Acer and any other manufacturer.  These are disposable consumer notebooks -- they are built to a price, with durability to match -- all of them.

    Dear @Aniket Chaudhary01 ,

I understand your frustration with Dell on this laptop specific hinge issue.

Could you list your model's name exactly so I can try recommending replacements that should resolve this issue for possibly cheaper than Dell? Additionally, If you're not satisfied with this product, I recommend you return the device and purchase another model that possibly released a couple years ago as those should be more reliable and designed for your needs as light work doesn't require the latest and greatest technology to do.

    Let me know,

Quick Tip: If your laptop has voltage / charging issues, try shutting it down, unplugging power from laptop, hold power button down for 30 seconds to do a full reset!

Before buying, make sure the hinges are the damaged part -- it's far more common to need the plastic base and mounting brads than the hinges (or in addition to them).
