The charging port on the laptop no longer has the small plastic piece inside the port. I only see the copper connections. When plugging it in the screen went white and shut the whole laptop off. When the plug was pulled out the plastic piece crumbled apart. Now we can no longer charge the laptop because when you try to plug it back in, it says not a supported charger. 

The other laptop I fear is heading in the same direction. You have to hold the charger just at the right spot for the laptop to charge correctly. 

Is there anything we can do to fix this issue?
