External Keyboard stops working

The Dell external keyboard (KB522 Multimedia Keyboard) is connected to the Dell D3100 docking station which is connected to my Dell Vostro 7620 laptop.

The keyboard stops working. Sometimes when I power up the laptop I can enter the password using the external keyboard, other times I can't. Sometimes when I can enter the password, the keyboard will continue working fine, other times it stops working after logging in. But inevitably the keyboard will stop working.

I then go into Setting > Bluetooth & Devices > and select remove device (keyboard). I unplug the keyboard from the dock, wait for the beep and plug it back in and sometimes that works. Other times I unplug the dock power cord, wait for the beep and plug it back in, or unplug the dock from the laptop, wait for the beep, and then plug it back in.

I had this issue with my previous dock and previous keyboard, but since they were past warranty, Dell tech wouldn't help. So I bought a new dock and new keyboard and issue still happens.

I recently noticed if when the external keyboard stops working and I just leave it and use the laptop keyboard, that sometime after 5-15 mins, it will start working again.

I have updated all drivers suggested by the Dell tech. They have seen the systeminfo log. I have also reinstalled Windows 11 OS.

I even bought a new USB wireless Dell mouse to replace the fairly new USB wireless Logitech mouse I had. Since the tech though there might be a compatibility issue.

I have 2 monitors, a web cam, printer (usually power is off), and keyboard plugged into the dock, and a USB wireless mouse plugged into the laptop since I usually take the mouse with me when I take the laptop.

EVERYTHIG is Dell.

I finally got fed up with the keyboard intermittently working and have been on with tech support for 2(?) months.

Anyone else having a similar issue?
