Vostro 5568 RAM upgrade compatibility

Hi,

I have Dell Vostro 15 5568 in configuration: i5-7200u, 8 GB RAM DDR4-2133MHz, and want to upgrade it.

In official owner's manual i found this:

"This laptop supports 2–16 GB DDR4 memory, up to 2133 MHz."

https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/vostro-15-5568-laptop_owners-manual_en-us.pdf

Crucial site advisor shows me memory up to 2666MHz and now i've got no idea what memory speed should i look up.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The CPU controls the memory speed.  If your current configuration is running 2133, that's what you'll see, even if you install the 2666 RAM.

2133 MHz RAM isn't used much any longer -- but there's no harm in using 2666 selected through Crucial's memory configurator -- the RAM will simply downclock to match the CPU you have.
