Windows 11 upgrade problems

Vostro 5581

Vostro 5581

Windows 11 upgrade hung at final step trying to show logon screen (cursor active but black screen). Various other users seem to experience the same problem. Another post indicated a BIOS upgrade is required but that did not resolve the problem. There was also a suggestion to disable Intel Integrated Sensor Solution driver, which I could do after booting into Safe Mode. This seems to have solved the problem.

However diagnostic tests show failures for the Sensor Solution (expected) but also PCIe status, which concerns me. I think I saw something on the Dell site that this driver is not applicable to a Vostro on Windows 11, but I can no longer find that page.

I would like to see something from Dell confirming that these are in fact not serious issues or better yet issue an update to remove the driver if it is not really necessary.

Have you tried to go to Microsofts windows 11 update site and use windows 11 A.I assistant to trouble shoot your problems to determine the correct driver support for your system?

Usually when I use windows update I sometimes do not get the correct drivers needed to match the bios.

Here is the link to the windows11 installation assistant and the A.I will determine the best driver support to make sure all the hardware is working correctly. In some cases the A.I will delete some of Dells bloatware that may have issues or confliction with win11 filemanagement.

Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

The Intel integrated sensor solution driver is causing this issue on Dell vostro 5x80 series

Boot into safe mode with networking

Uninstall driver reboot
