Is there a way to reset the service account password? I can't seem to find a document that explains the procedure. I've been using the password ever since it was setup and was working up until a couple of weeks ago. Then it suddenly stopped, even though nothing was changed from my side.
The screenshot of this version was taken a long time ago.
This is from 5.3 Admin Guide, but likely still applies. If this does not work, contact EMC Support.
Reset a user account 1. Login as an Administrator user. 2. Type the user reset --username command: VPlexcli:/> user reset --username TestUser A prompt for the Administrator password appears: admin password: 3. Type the password for the Administrator username. A prompt for new password for the username being reset appears: New password: 4. Type a new password for the username. A prompt to confirm the new password appears: Confirm password: 5. Re-type the password.
Sorry - need to add this caveat. When using the above method. The password set by the Admin is temporary. Your next step AFTER the above would be to login to the CLI as the service (or whatever user who's password you just changed) account using this "new" password. You are immediately prompted to change this temporary password to a new password. Good luck.
