Here are some answers to your questions:
1. We measure: network latency, IO bandwidth use (kbps) and login delay, but aren't modifying any of the packets.
2. The "Windows Standard Version" and "AD Group Policy - Standard Version" provide exactly the same functionality. It's just a different deployment mechanism (installer versus MSI). However, the "Windows Network Version" supplies less data, as described in the UI.
3. We haven't seen any issues: I use it with VPN all the time.
